Installing the App
System Requirements
- Windows 10 or later, or macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
- An internet connection for installation, license activation, and periodic license checks (the app works offline the rest of the time)
Windows
- Download the installer (
dotLottie Converter & Player Setup.exe) from Your Account page. - Double-click the downloaded
.exefile to run it. - You will likely see a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. This is normal — it appears for all new apps that aren’t yet widely recognized by Windows, not because anything is wrong. To continue:
• Click More info
• Click Run anyway - Follow the installer prompts. The app will launch automatically when installation finishes.
Mac
- Download the disk image (
dotLottie Converter & Player.dmg) from your account page. - Open the
.dmgfile and drag the app into your Applications folder. - The first time you open the app, macOS will likely block it with a message like "dotLottie Converter & Player can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." This is expected for apps distributed outside the Mac App Store. To open it:
• Right-click (or Control-click) the app in Applications
• Choose Open from the menu
• Click Open again in the confirmation dialog
You only need to do this once — after the first successful open, the app launches normally like any other app.
